2. Main limitations

Cost threshold: Industrial-grade equipment (such as drum-type thermal transfer printers) has a high initial investment, and custom thermal transfer films require a certain minimum order quantity, resulting in higher costs for small batches.

Printing substrate limitations: Some heat-sensitive materials (such as certain foam plastics) cannot withstand high temperatures, and the transfer of curved and irregular products is difficult, requiring dedicated equipment.

Durable performance differences: The thermal transfer patterns on textile products may show slight fading after long-term water washing; for outdoor use, an additional UV-resistant coating needs to be added, otherwise, they are prone to aging.
