How to production heat transfer film? | |
Make cylinder(Gravure cylinder preparation) | Engraving: A gravure cylinder is engraved with the desired design using laser or chemical etching techniques. Chrome Plating: The cylinder is chrome-plated to enhance durability and ensure precise ink transfer during printing. Inspection: The engraved cylinder is checked for defects to guarantee consistent print quality. |
Printing(Gravure printing process) | Film Unwinding: A base film (typically PET or BOPP) is fed into the printing machine. Ink Application: The engraved cylinder transfers the design onto the film using solvent-based or water-based inks. Multi-Color Printing: Multiple cylinders are used for different colors, ensuring accurate color registration. |
Drying(Ink curing&solvent evaporation) | Hot Air Drying: The printed film passes through a drying tunnel where hot air evaporates solvents, fixing the ink onto the film. UV or EB Curing (Optional): Some films use UV or electron beam (EB) curing for instant drying and enhanced durability. |
Cutting(Slitting&sheeting) | Print in big rolls - drying - cut into small rolls /piece- quality check. It take about 5-7 days(glitter film needs 5 days more for aluminized) |
Quality Inspection | Visual & Automated Inspection: The film is checked for defects such as misprints, scratches, or color inconsistencies. Adhesion Test: Ensures the film properly adheres to plastic bottles under heat and pressure. Durability Testing:Includes rub resistance, washing tests, and exposure to different environments. |
Packaging | Roll Wrapping: Finished rolls are wrapped in protective film to prevent scratches and moisture damage. Boxing/Palletizing: Rolls or sheets are packed in cartons or palletized for shipment. Labeling: Each package is labeled with product details (size, color, batch number, etc.). |
